Well, today started off as any normal Saturday in Roosevelt might: with a trip to Vernal. Sam was in desperate need of a new pair of shoes and some pants to fit his growing body. We left at 8:30 to get an early start. I wanted to be home by early afternoon so I could accomplish something on the house today. However, several hours later, we finally pulled back into Roosevelt at 5:00. I dropped some plants off at the church for the Stake Valentine's Dinner that was tonight. Kristy [she's in charge of this activity and might I say the gym looked amazing!] said I could drop the boys off at her house and her sitters would watch them while I stopped by for an hour or so. So I told the boys they would get to play with some friends and I went home to get ready. Half an hour later, I was showered and dressed in a skirt and a new pretty pink sweater I had picked up in town today. An hour to go and I sat up to the computer, turned on an audio book and waited for the time to go by. By six o'clock, the exhaustion set in and I went to check on the boys. The conversation went something like this...
[James had his headphones on listening to music.]
Sam: Mom, when are we going to leave?
Me: Twenty minutes...if we go.
Sam: If we go?
Me: Yeah, I didn't realize how tired I am.
Sam: Can't you take a Xanax?
Me: A Xanax? I'm not irritated or anxious, hon, I'm TIRED!
Sam: What can you take for that?
Me: Sleep.
Ten minutes later...
James: Mom, it's 6:20, are we going to leave yet?
Me: James, I'm REALLY tired. I don't think we are going to go.
James: But I want to play with my friends.
Me: I'm sorry, hon, but I am REALLY tired.
James: Can't you take a Xanax and be happy?
Me: You too!!! No, James, I'm not sad. I'm TIRED!
James: What can you take?
Me: [Geez! Duh kids, TIRED....TIRED!]
Me: I can sleep.
James: Oh.
