Another nice day at the beach

We took advantage of the nice weather today and the boys and I spent the morning at the beach.  I love how peaceful it is.  What a creation!  While we were there, a bird was trying to fly, but wasn't making it more than a couple of inches off of the ground.  I thought maybe a wing was broken, so we got close to it.  I realized, however, that it was flapping both wings.  So I looked closer, and it's foot was caught in some fishing wire.  I pulled out my keys and cut the string and away it flew.  The boys were pretty excited about 'saving' the bird.  Here's a picture of the bird.

Here are some other pictures from our morning.

Graham Crackers

I decided today would be a good day to try a new treat for the boys' school lunches.  Homemade graham crackers.  They turned out beautiful! It's amazing how easy some of these types of things are to make.

Leprechaun wishes

James:  Mom, there's a place where leprechauns really live.
Me:  Oh yeah?
James:  Really mom.  And if you catch one you get three wishes.
Me:  Oh yeah?
James:  Yeah.  What would your wishes be?
Me:  Well first I'd wish that you and Sam were always healthy.
James:  And what's next?
Me:  Hmmm.  I can't think if anything else.
James:  I know.  You wish you and daddy were skinny?

Rolls

Made up 4 dozen rolls today for an awesome turkey dinner at Laura's house.  They were yummy.  We just got home (five hours later) and my house still smells like freshly baked rolls.  Mmmm.

First beach trip

I picked the kids up from school today and took them to the beach for an hour.  It was still a bit chilly, but we had fun walking around.

A lizard James found.

I don't know any of these people, but we liked the kite!
